Languishing jar of pesto (or some other type of sauce) in the fridge/freezer? Get creative with some ground beef a try a new twist on basic burgers!
- 1 pound ground beef
- 1/4 medium onion, minced
- 2 T. pesto
- 1/2 t. salt
- generous 1/4 t. ground black pepper
- 1-2 pinches red pepper flakes (omit if heat isn’t your thing)
- few dashes paprika
- Preheat your grill. Place all ingredients in bowl and mix with hands until well blended. Form into four patties of (roughly) equal size and thickness.
- Grill to desired doneness – about 3-4 minutes per side depending on preferences. Enjoy!
I served these with roasted spaghetti squash and a chopped summer vegetable salad. You could jazz this up even more with a variety of toppings: roasted red peppers, goat cheese, caramelized onions are the first few that come to mind.
